VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd – Project Coordinator
Owned by the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, VTT specialises in knowledge intensive products & services, smart industry & energy systems and solutions for natural resources & environment. VTT uses its wide multi-technological knowledge to strengthen national and European industrial competitiveness.
Role in iFLEX
Besides coordinating the project, VTT is responsible for the design of the intelligent agent and involved in tasks related to management of flexibility.
Enerim Oy (formerly Empower IM Oy)
An independent service provider with the energy market and related services as the main business domain. Enerim provides a wide range of energy market services and IT-solutions within Energy market services, Smart Grid Solutions and Energy Sector IT Systems.
Role in iFLEX
Enerim contributes to the development of flexibility management & aggregation mechanisms and business models. Enerim also leads the work on coordinating the cooperation with other relevant projects and initiatives.
Caverion Suomi Oy
Designs, builds, operates and maintains intelligent and energy-efficient solutions for buildings, industries and infrastructures in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe.
Role in iFLEX
Caverion leads the work on pilots & validation and the Finnish pilot. Caverion contributes to the development of building and smart home interfaces, supporting also the service design of AIAI Artificial Intelligence-based automated management and the integration of the iFLEX Assistant.
Smart Com d.o.o.
An innovative company whose core business is the development and integration of systems in the ICT field. Smart Com is a leading ICT partner of DSODSO Distribution System Operator/TSO operators in Slovenia with more than 20 years experience with ICT projects for electric grid operators.

Smart Com leads the integration of systems and contributes to consumer & energy system modelling, AI-based decision making network interfacing and secure and interoperable data handling.
Institut “Jožef Stefan” – Department of Open Systems and Networks
Belonging to the largest scientific research institute in Slovenia, the Department has comprehensive experience in the fields of trust, security & privacy, data analytic, forecasting and internet services.
Role in iFLEX
The Jožef Stefan Institute leads the work on security and privacy, data analytics and machine learning. Focus is on forming the digital twin of the consumer and establishing secure consumer data management.
Elektro Celje d.d.
One of five electricity distribution companies in Slovenia, owning and operating the distribution network to ensure reliable supply of electric power in its area of coverage. Elektro Celje is active in several initiatives to drive the technological and regulatory developments in the area of Smart Grids.
Role in iFLEX
As a grid operator, Elektro Celje provides valuable inputs to the requirements analysis and high-level system design. Elektro Celje also contributes to the operation and realisation of the Slovenian pilot, demonstrating and evaluating an integrated iFLEX solution.
ECE d.o.o.
The largest electricity supplier in Slovenia and the first to provide all household and small business customers the option to buy electricity produced entirely from renewable sources.

ECE leads the Slovenian pilot, engaging and communicating with its participants. The ambition is to introduce flexibility management tools that allow coordinated collaboration between distribution system operator, energy supplier and consumer.

As the Slovenian Consumer Association, Zveza potrošnikov Slovenije acts on behalf of consumers, through advice & information, research & advocacy, campaigning & policy-making as well as through representation nationally and internationally.

Zveza potrošnikov Slovenije coordinates the user engagement and validation activities. Zveza potrošnikov Slovenije is the consumer watchdog, following the process closely from the development of the intelligent assistant to its deployment in the real environments, ensuring that it brings benefits to all parties involved.
Intracom Telecom
The largest multinational provider of telecommunications products and integrated ICT solutions & services in Greece with a proven track record of 35+ years of international presence. Intracom Telecom offers state-of-the-art telecommunication and energy management equipment to meet the demands of the evolving market domain related to Smart Grids.

Intracom Telecom leads the work on service and system design, participating in the definition, design and implementation of methodologies and tools that facilitate the efficient aggregation and management of flexibility.

STEcon leads the work on consumer engagement, incentive mechanisms and economic sustainability, applying state-of-the-art economic and business modelling tools and knowledge towards creating and assessing an economically sustainable environment for the adoption and exploitation of project results.

Group of companies engaged in the production, supply and trading of electricity in Greece. HERON provides substantial support to the security of supply with its power plants using state-of-the-art technology. On the supply side, HERON is the largest independent electricity retailer with a growing household customer and B2B portfolio.

HERON leads the Greek pilot, providing valuable insights into the real-world applicability of flexibility management systems such as the iFLEX Assistant.

The largest renewable aggregatorAggregator Market participant acting between providers and users of flexibility. The Aggregator bundles flexibility resources (consumption, generation, storage) into a flexibility volume and offers the capability to activate it. in Greece, providing physical and financial optimisation of renewable energy assets operating in energy markets. Optimus Energy helps renewable producers manage market participation, assuming all market and balancing responsibilities on their behalf.
Role in iFLEX
Optimus Energy contributes towards the provision of flexibility services that are based on a broader set of flexibility providers, such as small energy consumers. Furthermore, Optimus Energy is involved in innovation activities related to advancing current Aggregator business models.

A multi-disciplinary research company specialised in technology development and provision of internet-based solutions in diverse areas such as energy, healthcare and citizen engagement. In-JeT’s expertise lies in the cross-field of technology and social sciences, developing technology concepts with a profound knowledge of the socio-economic context.

In-JeT Aps is engaged in all aspects related to user and stakeholder involvement from user requirement engineering & user experience design, ethics & privacy matters, pilot operation & validation to business modelling & incentive design. In-JeT also leads the work on creating impact in terms of communication, dissemination and exploitation.
